THE INTELLIGENT PAINTER

Once there was an intelligent painter. A very old and rich woman went to him and asked him to paint her portrait. The painter completed the painting in one week When the old women went to get the painting, her dog accompanied her. The painter showed the portrait to her and waited for her comment. The old woman turned to her dog and asked, "Moti, how is my portrait?"
But Moti did not even look at the painting. The old woman angrily said, "I'll not pay you for this painting. What have you made? Even my dog does not recognise me." The painter replied, "Come in the morning. By then I'll rectify my mistake." Next
morning the old woman came again with her dog. This time the dog started licking the painting. Actually, the painter had rubbed a piece of meat at the lower edge of the painting during the night. The old woman thought that the dog liked her portrait and paid a lot of money to the painter.

THE FOOLISH FRIENDS

Once a mouse and a frog were very good friends. They used to spend most of their time together. Whenever the mouse went in search of food, the frog grew sad and would miss him. In the same way, when the frog would go back into the pond, the mouse would miss him. So, they made a plan. They took a rope and tied its one end to the frog's leg and the other to the mouse's foot. Whenever they missed each other, one would pull the rope to call the other.
One day the frog went deep underwater in search of food. He forgot that his foot was tied with the foot of a mouse. He went deeper under water. As a result, the poor mouse was pulled into the water and drowned. While flying above, an eagle saw the dead mouse. The eagle came down, took the mouse in its beak and flew away. The eagle found the frog along with the mouse. The eagle ate both of them. Thus, the two friends died because of their foolishness.

THE GREEDY MAN

Once a rich and greedy man fell seriously ill. Many learned doctors were called to treat him. But nobody could cure his ailment. Then the ill man prayed to God, "God, please save me from death. If you do so, I will sacrifice a hundred bulls at your altar."God, heard his prayers and cured him. The rich man recovered his health. Now, he did not want to spend money. So he had a hundred tiny idols of bull made and offered them to the temple fire and said, "God, please accept my gift of thanks."
Now the God was angry as the man had broken his promise and had not offered a live bull to him. So God decided to punish him and said, "Go to the seashore and you'll get a hundred gold coins for yourself." The greedy man went to the seashore. There a ship of pirates had already arrived. They imprisoned the greedy man and sold him as a Slave in another country for hundred gold coin.
